How long have you been in business?
Terri Maurer has been working with small business owners for the past fifteen years, strategically focusing them to achieve their unique visions of success.
What is your primary product or service?
We help small businesses with strategic marketing and management planning and processes.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
After more than 30 years operating in a variety of business models within the commercial interior design arena, I turned my creative juices from designing business environments to designing successful small businesses based on strategy and a focus on success. After serving as the national president of the American Society of Interior Designers, a professional association with more than 34,000 members and a 9 million dollar budget, I came away with a new found interest in how to strategically plan and manage a successful small business. Turning my own focus toward higher levels of business education to support my existing business skills, I added public speaking and writing to my skill set. In 2010, Wiley & Sons published a book I co-authored "Interior Design in Practice: Case Studies of Successful Business Models" which was my way of giving back to the profession that had presented me with so many opportunities.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We speak no MBA jargon when dealing with our clients. We prefer a more relaxed and easily understandable conversation that doesn't confuse or overwhelm clients. We work as a part of their team, analyzing their existing condition for strengths and needs, then develop strategies and plans they can easily implement.
