What is your primary product or service?
Product Development Services including complete product design, product testing, prototyping, short run production and through my partners organization (SMC LTD) full production services. Services: Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering incl FEA, Elect Engineering, Software Dev., Test, Prototyping, Project Management including sourcing and vendor management.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I have been developing products all of my life. Career started in Nuclear Medicine developing imaging systems, Founded Trionix Research Lab in 1987 as a high end Nuclear Imaging Co., Joined Telxon Corp as Sr. Dir. Project Management & Advanced Technology in 1993, founded Design Dynamics in 1997. We now operate as SMC Design Dynamics.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Complete services with a focus on Project Management and communication that allows our customers the confidence to get on with their business while we execute their product design & development. We complete the last 15% of the project that others fall down on (the other half of the project). Lower overhead to the customer, faster time to market.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Our engineering & prototyping services are in Hudson, OH. We have injection molding and MFG facilities in MA (3), WI (3), CA (1), India (3).

From Cleveland Hopkins: Exit airport south to I71 South via Snow Rd. I-71S to OH Turnpike East. TP East to Route 8 South. Exit 8 on RT 303 East (left turn). Follow a short distance to Terex Rd (RT turn). Terex to SR-91 South. 91 South about 1/2 mi to Georgetown Rd. 3rd building on the left.
